GRENIQUE- Picking Up Where She Left Off
When I was signed to Motown I really didn’t get the type of experience that I
wanted. Motown was one of the greatest labels in our history, and to a lot of
its’ artists and fans. The music had a lot to say and when you listen to it today
it places you in a time and place of remembering. I grew up with my parents
listening to music, so when I discovered I could sing as a little girl watching
soul train and other shows it infused my dreams. I wanted to do what they
were doing.
I really want to feel like that little girl again. My parents and my family were so
influential in shaping me, I discovered I could sing at the age of 11 and just so
happened my entire family is talented including all of my siblings and we
used to sing all the time so it came naturally.
You have the innocent little girl who just wanted to be a singer and
entertainer, then you have the adult with the lessons of life that you’re taught
going through life with the combination of the good and the bad, and believe
me they both come together.
Believe it or not, the love of my son kept me in the fight of my life. As a
woman giving birth and raising a child, knowing that I have to be a mother
first, an artist really kept me grounded and my mother, father and family’s
support gave me so many opportunities.
I’m just so thankful to “GOD” my parents, my family, those who were good to
me that I made it through to see this day, and still have a career and a chance
to start over, grow, love and most of all create beautiful music that audiences
can love and enjoy. Also I want to thank the struggle for the valuable lessons.
I’m Grenique Harper Recording Artist...
