Lamone is a multi-talented vocalist, songwriter, and producer with an incredible vocal range. Always a leader, this “soulja” of music and art blazes his own trail. Lamone heard music all the time, influenced by his idols: Mom, Dad, Donny Hathaway, Stevie Wonder, Marvin Gaye, Patti, Chaka, and Aretha. With his ability to evoke the artistry of such legends, Lamone has developed a soulful yet eclectic style of his own, mixing R&B, Jazz and Hip Hop Beautifully and Melodically.

Born and raised in Waterbury, Connecticut, Lamone is no stranger to going against the grain, or straying from the norm. He is working with multi-talented producer/musician/songwriter Chris “Big Dog” Davis. “Big Dog” has worked with Brian McKnight, Vesta, Will Downing, Phil Perry, Najee and many more.

He has toured worldwide with Smooth Jazz pioneer Najee. Lamone is the featured artist, singing the notable song, “Fallin’ in Love” on Najee’s 2005 release, “My Point Of View”. In 2007, Lamone released his debut CD entitled, “Eclectically Speaking” and in 2011, released an EP entitled, “On The Rocks”. Recently, his single “High Off You” reached Number 1 at WYBC 94.3 in New Haven CT, which knocked JUSTIN TIMBERLAKE’S Suit & Tie from the top spot!

Released Independently through his own imprint, Xclusive One Music, his latest CD, entitled, “Smooth” is creating a huge buzz and gaining momentum with the release of the first single,”Nightlife”. It is an infectious Dance song, mixing Classic with New R&B tearing up Radio and Dance floors across the Globe.

Lamone has performed as an opening act for Jill Scott, Charlie Wilson, KEM, Chaka Khan, Anita Baker, and has been 20 Feet from Stardom from Me’lisa Morgan. His experience combined with his dynamic stage presence undoubtedly commands an audience’s full attention.

In this episode we converse about Lamone's love for music and the process behind such hits as "Rearview Mirror", "Smooth", "Born To Be Kings" and more. We also touch on his collaborations with Smooth Jazz Favorite, Najee and how this incredible partnership evolved. We talked and laughed for over 90 minutes. Time flies when you are having fun. Lamone is just as smooth and easy to talk to as his music is to listen to. It was a pleasure to sit down with him. I'm sure you will enjoy this episode.
